Having made a summer move to the south coast upon the expiry of his contract with boyhood club Crewe Alexandra, Tommy Lowery’s distinct nickname has unsurprisingly stuck with the technically-gifted midfielder after arriving at Fratton Park. Pompey fans were provided with their first glimpse of Lowery in action during Tuesday’s sublime 3-0 win against Cardiff City, where the 24-year-old came on as a half-time substitute for Danny Cowley’s side. Lowery made 175 appearances for the Railwaymen and played a vital part in their 2019/2020 promotion-winning campaign before contributing to a successful 12th-placed League One finish the season after.
